It is written in India: The mind is the cause of your bondage, and the mind is the cause of your liberation.

There is only one reason we are unhappy: our thoughts, and there is only one obstruction between us and God: our thoughts. God is as close or as far away as our thought allows Him to be.

Thoughts create our day to day reality, whether that reality is harmonious or discordant depends upon the thoughts we habitually entertain. When we realize that each thought creates according to its nature, we will want only positive, harmonious, God-uniting thoughts.

Change your thought if you wish to change your circumstances. When we fill ourselves with the paramount thought of God all discordant thoughts cease and we gain our divine birthright.

There is only one way to change thought: by self-control, by training and controlling the mind (by meditation and positive affirmations). That is the value of a spiritual practice; it enables us to control the mind. It enables us to attune the mind to God’s harmonious vibrations and receive our divine birthright of happiness and contentment.

God wants us to be happy and content. But it is up to us to strive for this attunement. For those who make the effort the blessings continually pour forth.
